At Auguste, we’re constantly taking steps to improve our environmental processes so we can operate as sustainably as possible, and in doing so help others to tread a little lighter too. Living an authentic life isn’t just a singular decision, but hundreds of choices that add up to make a difference. Let us take you through a few of ours.
Seeking eco-friendly materials doesn’t stop with fabrics. Our garment bags are biodegradable and have been for quite a while – this allows them to be disposed of in your green waste where they break down over time. This year, we’re taking our packaging choices a step further and moving to compostable garment and shipping bags which are made of plant materials and completely free from any toxic components. On top of this, we use recycled materials for the shopping bags in our boutique as well as any printed cards that come with your clothes, and also ensure our swing tags are made from FSC-certified stock. Our packaging is an ongoing project (a rather big one at that), and we’ll update this space as we find new and better materials to work with.
The culture at our headquarters in Byron Bay is something that has evolved very naturally and we recognise just how lucky we are for that. Our office is solar powered, we use Who Gives A Crap toilet paper, we all have keep cups and use our reusable straws when we need them. We even have our very own Auguste veggie patch where we grow greens for lunchtime salads and compost all our food scraps. It’s important to encourage each other to tread lightly and consume mindfully – and this is something we’ll continue to nourish as our Auguste family grows.
