Where was your favourite place to eat, shop and stay?
I travelled with G Adventures and the whole trip was nothing short of magical, I can’t recommend them enough as the way to experience Morocco. Every meal, every place we stayed was thoughtfully curated, creating a seamless and unique experience.
One of the highlights was definitely the Sahara Desert, where we stayed at a camp called Imperial Glory. Riding camels, watching the sunset over the dunes, and waking up to the serene beauty of the desert were moments I’ll never forget. The bustling souks of Marrakech and Fez were also a feast for the senses, with their unique crafts, aromatic spices, and vibrant textiles.
What is a must-do activity when in Morocco?
Experiencing the Sahara Desert is an absolute must. Whether you’re riding camels across the golden dunes, watching the sun’s last light kiss the horizon, or sleeping under a canopy of stars, the desert offers an adventure like no other. The tranquillity of waking up in the desert is something that stays with you. Additionally, exploring the lively souks of Marrakech and Fez immerses you in the heart of Moroccan culture, with their endless treasures and bustling energy.
What are your top tips for staying safe when travelling to Morocco?
Travelling to Morocco is like stepping into a vibrant, living mosaic of colours, sounds, and flavours. My experience there was incredibly safe, but it's always wise to be prepared. Start by learning a bit about Moroccan culture before you go; understanding their customs will enrich your journey. When you arrive, connect with a local family or hire a knowledgeable tour guide. Their insights and stories will enhance your adventure and keep you grounded in the local ways.
